History

Applitron Datasystem AB has been active in Gothenburg since 1981. The business has since been focused on development and sales of customized database systems for medium and large companies.

Applications are of the type "Administrative multi-user systems", designed to run on Unix-based servers with terminals, PCs, or Macs as workplaces. There have been systems for:

For many years, we have acted as an external data department for many of our customers managing the company's data operations. In this way, we have built up good practices and systems around our customer service that allow us to provide many different customers with both software, hardware and collaboration with other systems.

Often our systems can interact with customers' other computer systems. Experiences from these projects have provided us with good knowledge of systems integration between Unix systems and other types of platforms.


	MODS Applitron has both sold and managed the MODS economy system on the UNIX platform throughout the 90's. There are still many systems in operation and are fully secured in 2000. Possibly, the character-based interface has seen its best days, but the system as a whole is robust and functional. MODS strong pages are Order, Warehouse and Billing, as well as Accounting and Accountancy. MODS was adapted to several special versions such as Export and import systems, turn-based image distribution, car import systems and major wholesale systems. UNIX uses Informix C-ISAM as the index manager, making key searches on modern machines almost instantaneous. Applitron still has OLF knowledge of the newer product A1 that uses SQL database and full transaction management.


	FÖRETAGAREN Applitron bought the "KLIENTEN", Client and Project Reporting, and the COMPANY, Small Business Administration, by Alcatel in the early nineties. The "Företagaren", (Entrepreneur) gave us many customers and experiences of DOS and Window Systems. "Företagaren" was driven by more than 1,000 companies at its peak. To "Företagaren", many adjustments were made to most small business sectors. However, "Företagaren" did not manage over the millennium shift but was replaced by the HANSA business system. HANSA exists as both Macintosh and Window client with the server part on windows or UNIX.


	DRACULA The blood donor system that was ahead of time and introduced barcode-labelled stockholders for quality and safety. Dracula handled both the stock and donor part of the operation of the blood centre at Norra Älvsborg Lasarett. Dracula was written in TODAY 4GL and C.


	KANAL Channel boat administration with booking and billing routines for Göta Kanalbolaget. Informix system that was run under Xenix.


	FFIA - medlemsregister Association for International Adoptions. Information support system during the adaptation process.


	ORWELL Personnel administration for the Kurort Hospital in Tranås.


	AGATHA Room Booking etc. for RFV's spa hotel in Tranås.


	AXEL Transaction-oriented storage system for RFV's hospital in Tranås central warehouse. Axel was written in "C" with an interface similar to MODS but with a very easy manageable programming interface that was built on field functions with pre and post functions. The concept proved to be extremely reliable and was run without maintenance on a Cromemco Unix machine for almost 10 years.


	ADS-PP Administrative DataSystem for Private Practitioner written in C with C-ISAM and a completely revolutionary free text database that guaranteed journal data integrity. Please change but do not erase. Everything will be auditable.


	BL Bill of lading, a system developed for Atlanticargo in Gothenburg. A system for calculating shipping costs. Much electronic communication with international players.


	BEFOLKNINGSREGISTER Applitron has provided a population register for the County Council in Älvsborg County, as a result of a so-called SQL Server Services serves several different computer systems in the healthcare sector of Norra Älvsborg County, now Västra Götaland County, in a standardized, open and secure way with population data such as residential address, deaths, etc.


	MEDILITE A physician who handle all administration around a home care clinic will need this. Time ordering, billing, recipe and journal management.


	KUMPLOT 1982 KUMPLOT was a program that, using the daily statistics calculated by H6000's main program, provides the opportunity to plot daily statistics for patient values against a cumulative patient average. Plotting could be done for HB, EPK, MCV, EVF, LPK, and TPK for up to 55 days back in time (5 1/4 "version). The program was written in compiled MBASIC.


	Computer-assisted control of H6000 response 1982 Automatic database of blood gas analyzes made with H6000. Eg data collection and presentation.


	ELFORES 1982 Evaluation programs to increase analytical quality when evaluating Elfores plates. Elfores is a method of allowing protein complexes to flow through glass plates and electrical potential for a certain period of time. The result is digitized and presented graphically with a mathematical


	method. The program was run on a Commodore PET 8032 with its associated digitizer. The model used was the Parameter Linear Normal Model, and as a minimum squared fit to f (x) = a + b * SQR (x) * c * x formed a normal curve. Subsequently, a throwback moment was performed. In this way, the operator manages the evaluation in a controlled manner.


	TAXIFÖRETAGAREN "The taxi company" was a special version of the "Företagaren", including wage management. The salary base came directly from driving journals.


General system for managing credit travel and member accounts. This is a complete administrative system for billing a large number of trips, typically 35000 / day, with all the necessary electronic connections to community functions and card companies that a modern taxi service requires today. The system is of the "online" type, ie it has explicit error management in order to continue operation even in case of serious data tables.
